A pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist Sunday morning in the Loop after the two had an argument, police said.
The incident happened just before 5 a.m. near State Street and Congress Parkway. The driver and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, had a "verbal altercation," police said in a statement. The motorist then ran into the pedestrian with his vehicle and drove off. The pedestrian was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with head injuries. No one was in custody in the incident, police said.
