Freight train, car collide in Elmwood Park

A collision between a freight train and a car in west suburban Elmwood Park this morning closed Grand Avenue to traffic between 76th and Harlem avenues, police said. Harlem Avenue was also blocked at Grand by the stopped train.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. Details of the collision, which happened about 5:20 a.m., were not immediately available. A Canadian Pacific freight train was involved.
