A 6 car metro train has derailed near Farragut North train station in Washington DC.
The derailment happened in the late morning US east coast time just outside the busy station. There were no reports of injuries and passengers were moving to the station via tunnel after the accident.
Farragut North serves downtown Washington and is located just north of Farragut Square. It lies at the heart of the business district on Connecticut Avenue, with two entrances at L Street and one at K Street.
Reports said the Farragut North Washington DC Metro train derailment happened on the Red Line Red Line with delays for other train passengers in both directions, locals at the scene said.
The Washington DC train derailment happened just after 10.30 am. Apparently one cart was badly affected by the Farragut Noth metro station train derailment February 12 2010.
