Four people were injured -- one critically -- in a rollover accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side early Saturday.

At 3:30 a.m., State Police responded to a rollover accident at  95th Street on the southbound Dan Ryan, according to Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Teressa Allen.

Four men between the ages of 19-25 were traveling in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe when they attempted to cut across three lanes at a high rate of speed, Allen said. The driver lost control and rolled the vehicle 360 degrees where it finally came to rest upside down on a guardrail, she said.

All four people were ejected from the vehicle. Three people suffered minor injuries of broken fingers. A 25-year-old man was critically injured, but his injuries were non-life threatening, Allen said. The nature of his injures were not immediately available.

Only one person was wearing a seat belt at the time, she said.

Two people, including the critically injured man, were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, one went to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and one to Little Company of Mary in Evergreen Park, she said.

Citations were issued for improper lane usage, driving under the influence and failing to wear a seat belt.
