Rockford Area Ironworker gets $1 Million Settlement in Crane Accident

Trial attorney, James J. Morici, Jr., began this year off with a million dollar settlement on behalf of a Rockford area structural ironworker. The ironworker was injured in April, 1995, while working at a facility being constructed for Motorola, Inc., in Harvard, Illinois.

The injuries occurred as a result of the disassembling of a component part of a crane headache ball which caused a 40x40 foot section of structural steel to fall and strike the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff sustained nerve damage affecting the use of his arm and shoulder. Morici, Figlioli & Associates concentrates a substantial portion of its practice to the representation of injured construction workers relative to worker’s compensation claims and third party lawsuits. The firm became involved in representing this ironworker several months before trial due to his dissatisfaction with a prior firm’s representation.
